About Mister Blakes Cakes
History of Mister Blake's Cakes
Mister Blake's Cakes and More started in 2010, when Blake, a young man with autism, started to show an interest in the pastry arts. At the time, his mother, Valerie Herskowitz, was in-training and would often practice her new skills in their home kitchen. Eventually, when Blake graduated high school, they began to make cakes, cupcakes and specialty cookies for friends and then others in the community. In 2013, after Valerie graduated from Ecole Chocolat, they turned their interests to include chocolate-making and teaching other Teens and Adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. They moved into their commercial kitchen and retail shop in 2016 and have been making chocolate, cakes and pastries, and teaching others with autism and other developmental disabilities since that time.
Our Team
Our team of bakers and pastry chefs are experts in their craft. They have years of experience and are dedicated to creating delicious and beautiful treats for our customers. They also are involved in the training of our Special Chocolatier Apprentices
